Ashim is a business leader with over 17 years of experience across technology startups, consulting, and early-stage investing. He has held CXO positions at organizations with global business reach and impact, including Jio-Haptik and WeWork. His work has focused on building businesses, shaping growth strategies, supporting sales operations, developing partnerships, and helping ventures secure funding.
Ashim started his career in 2009 as a management consultant in Boston. After two years, he returned to India to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions. Since then, he has built and scaled three startups, including Haptik, which was successfully exited to Reliance for US$100 million.
Currently, Ashim runs IBEC India, a hybrid venture studio and consulting practice, along with Radhakrishnan K, former CEO of Reliance Retail, former President of Future Group, and former Director at Tata StarQuik. Through IBEC India, he is involved in building businesses around India’s consumption story and supporting ventures through strategy and execution.
Ashim is also an active angel investor. Since 2019, he has invested in over 45 startups under the banner of Aperio.partners and has already achieved 10 successful exits. His experience as an operator, investor, and venture builder gives him a strong connection with the journey of building and scaling early-stage businesses.
Ashim holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Cornell University and a summer business diploma from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Outside the startup and investment world, he is a fitness enthusiast with an interest in sleep and wellness. He also enjoys adventure sports and is currently completing his solo paragliding license.
